The 2016 results:
• 241 delegates representing 128 companies from 48 countries joined the 31st IELA Congress
• 389 delegates representing 220 companies from 55 countries joined the 5th Partnering Event
• Over 3.080 meetings took place during the Congress networking session and the PE networking session
The formal 2016 General Assembly opened proceedings with a brief report of IELA´s Chairman Christoph Rauch and Vice Chairwoman Mariane Ewbank as well as the Treasurer´s Report by Ulrich Kasimir. This was followed by the re-election of five Board Members: Vicki Bedi (PS Bedi Group), Feyzan Erel (GRUPTRANS Co., Inc), Achim Lotzwick (Cretschmar MesseCargo GmbH) Christoph Rauch (BTG Messe - Spedition GmbH) and James Ng (Transit Air Cargo Singapore Pte. Ltd). Guido Fornelli (Expotrans S.p.A.) was elected into the Board of Management.
Mariane Ewbank has been elected as IELA’s first Chairwoman.
As every year the Working Group Session sparked a huge interest of many members. More than 80 people worked for the five Working Groups and presented astonishing results on June 27th.
The annual awards were presented during the Gala Dinner at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham:

On this year’s General Assembly Christoph Rauch announced that due to IELA’s prospering, the 2017 Winter Seminar in Zurich will be free of charge for all members participating. NURTURE RELATIONS - COLLABORATE FOR A SAFER INDUSTRY
A highlight on the 31st IELA Congress has certainly been the IELA Forum. Under the name OH&S in the Exhibition Industry – Quo vadis? IELA invited IAEE, UFI, IFES and X-Venture to talk about trendsetting Health and Security concepts for all industry to profit from.
